Motion blending

I did several blendings.  The first one is from the motion holding a trophy to another falling down motion.   I selected 2 similar poses from those 2 motions and took them as the blend pivot pose.

The second blending I did is a little bit longer than the first one.  From a small sequence of running motion, I created a much longer running sequence (4 pieces into 1), and at last I blended the running with another gasp motion.

Motion Edit

edit1  Ideally the blending tool will provide satisfying results, but my first trial didn't work quite well, and I need some post-edit work to make the blended motion look better.  Look at the trophy2down video.  Before editing, the foot motion doesn't look natural: during frame 330-350 (the blended motion), the feet have some downward motion even though there should not have any foot motion. Using IK handlers, we adjusted the positions of those locators.  Basically, I fix the positions of both two foot IK handlers.  However, even though the foot joints are fixed, there still are some toe movements, which give me the impression that the foot penetrated the ground.  So I add another auxiliary effector to fix the toe base, and finally the result looks fine.

edit2  The second motion edit I did is to exaggerate the motion.  Originally, the model bends and starts to gasp.  I selected the FK handler at the neck joint and made the bend motion more obvious, i.e.  when the body bends to the lowest point, I made the neck bend a little bit further, and when the body comes to the highest position, I made the neck more straight.  After that, the bend motion looks fine but there are two new problems.  The first one is foot sliding, which is solved by using 2 auxiliary effortors.  The second one is improper arm motion.  When the body bends most, the arms seem too close to the legs and that may cause body part penetration.  I keyframed the arm position to make sure the arms keep some distance away from the legs.
